One can practice longsword fighting despite having disc problems by modifying their training to minimize strain on the back. This can include focusing on footwork, balance, and precision rather than heavy impact movements. Additionally, using a lighter training sword or practicing with a wooden waster can reduce strain on the back while still allowing for skill development. It is important to consult with a medical professional and a qualified instructor to develop a training plan that is safe and effective for individuals with disc problems. **

The answer to this question depends on the specific context and purpose for which the sword is being used. German longswords were designed for use in European medieval combat and are known for their versatility, reach, and cutting and thrusting capabilities. On the other hand, samurai swords, such as the katana, were designed for use in Japanese martial arts and are known for their sharpness, precision, and cutting ability. Ultimately, the "better" sword would depend on the specific needs and preferences of the user, as well as the specific combat or martial arts context in which the sword will be used. **

The main difference between a katana and a European longsword lies in their design and cultural origins. The katana is a traditional Japanese sword with a curved, single-edged blade, designed for swift and precise cutting. It is often associated with the samurai and has a deep cultural significance in Japanese history. On the other hand, the European longsword is a straight, double-edged sword with a longer blade, designed for both cutting and thrusting. It was commonly used by knights and has its roots in medieval European warfare. Additionally, the construction and forging techniques of these swords also differ, with the katana being made using a process called differential hardening, while the European longsword is typically made using a different method of heat treatment. **
